In today’s digital landscape, designing interactive emails is highly desirable. Unlike reading a book, nobody wants to receive an email that reads like a novel. Incorporating interactive features into your campaigns, such as Calls to Action (CTAs), linked blogs, graphics, images, and animated GIFs can significantly boost click-through rates. User-generated content, such as consumer surveys and polls, can also be engaging additions. Multiple studies have shown that adding interactive content to an email can increase its click-through rates.

CTA buttons are an effective way to direct readers to specific webpages. You’ve likely encountered these buttons at the bottom of web advertisements, featuring phrases like ‘Buy Now,’ ‘Start Saving,’ and ‘Learn More.’ These buttons should be prominent, with no more than two or three words, employing bold colors and fonts that align with your brand identity to captivate the reader.

While your emails should already include graphics, photos featuring real people, and possibly GIFs, remember to add links to these images. These links should direct the reader to webpages relevant to the image. For instance, if you include a photo of a woman holding one of your products, ensure the image has a clickable link leading to the product listing. Similarly, if you incorporate a graphic depicting a keyboard and a mouse, link it directly to your blog page. The same applies to relevant text. If you discuss the benefits of remote work in your email newsletter, highlight that sentence with bold, colored text and link it to a recent blog post or featured case study on your website. A general rule of thumb is to visualize it; then, link it to a page that can provide more information.

Engaging readers by soliciting real-time feedback is a fun and productive approach. This can be accomplished through user surveys and polls. Customers often appreciate the opportunity to voice their opinions. Allowing for anonymous feedback can encourage honest responses, knowing that it’s confidential and aimed at making positive changes within your business. Create polls with questions that seek honest reviews, such as “How would you rate this business?” and “How likely are you to recommend our products/services to a friend?” Following their responses, acknowledge their feedback with appreciation, underlining its importance to your company. Such engagement fosters a sense of involvement and appreciation among your readers.

Acknowledgment and appreciation can go a long way, and subscribers want to feel like they are involved in your business. So creating these interactive polls and surveys can associate the reader with your marketing strategy. After subscribers complete a survey or poll, acknowledge their effort with a heartfelt thank-you message. Let them know how important their feedback is in shaping your business and express gratitude for their time. Most of all, take their opinions and survey answers into account.
